Increasingly concerned over the dominance of Western media narratives and biases hindering the effective dissemination of China's voice,fuel filter paper quotes experts are considering the creation of distinctive cultural symbols to enhance the country's global image. 

Addressing this imperative, artist Shu Yong, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, has unveiled a proposal aimed at fostering greater understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture on the international stage.

Speaking at the second session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, Shu emphasized the significance of cultural symbols in bridging diverse societies, fostering empathy and consensus for mutual benefit. 

Drawing from the rich tapestry of Chinese civilization, he highlighted the need for contemporary cultural representations that resonate with global audiences and embody the spirit of a shared human destiny.

Back in 2014, Shu's vision materialized in the form of the Golden Bridge on the Silk Road. A monumental art installation inspired by the ancient Zhaozhou Bridge in North China's Hebei Province, it is intricately crafted from 20,000 bricks reminiscent of the Great Wall which are adorned with national flowers and elements representing various countries.

This ambitious project, spanning a decade of meticulous planning and execution, symbolizes China's commitment to innovation and cultural exchange.

"I hope to show the world the spirit of building a community of human destiny in which 'one flower alone is not spring, but a hundred flowers blossom in spring,'" Shu told reporters. 

"When this bridge toured the world, people were impressed by both the amber and the beautiful symbolism of the flowers."

Reflecting on the global resonance of the Golden Bridge, Shu underscored its role as a catalyst for storytelling in a modern Chinese context. 

With its profound symbolism and universal appeal, the bridge serves as a testament to China's cultural richness and enduring legacy, fostering dialogue and understanding across borders.

Looking ahead, Shu said he plans to replicate the golden bridge in 100 cities worldwide, aiming to promote China's cultural innovation and enhance its global influence. 

By harnessing the power of art and culture, he envisions a future where China's modernization efforts are celebrated and understood, contributing to a more harmonious and interconnected world.
